Small Business Management provides a background and hands-on experience in the field of entrepreneurship and a foundation for all business majors.This course prepares students with the basic issues, concepts, and terminology for succeeding in the field of small business and provides a foundation for success in the fields of marketing and business administration. The course is required or is an option for the various Accounting, Management, and Marketing certificates or for the Associate in Arts Degree and transfers to the California State University System. It is also offered for personal enrichment or entrepreneurial application.
Business Communication
Principles and techniques of effective oral and written communication in business environments. Organization, composition, presentation and analysis of letters, memorandums, oral and written reports, proposals and resumes. Development of interviewing and collaborative problem solving skills. Emphasis on diversity and the use of technology in the global marketplace. This course is also offered as BUSAD 145.
Human Relations in Organizations
Examination of individual, group and organizational behavior as it affects performance and productivity in the workplace. Exploration of issues including diversity, leadership, teamwork, motivation, employee development, ethics, decision making and problem solving toward the goal of improving interpersonal effectiveness on the job. This course is offered as BUSAD 155 and SPEECH 155.
